The game-changing collection

There is a moment when a fashion brand stops just signing perfumes and starts creating real perfumery. For Jean Paul Gaultier, that moment arrived with the Les Ateliers Gaultier collection — six fragrances that carry all the aesthetic audacity of the maison, but with an unprecedented olfactory depth for the designer universe.

The premise is clear: more artistic, refined, and sophisticated fragrances, without giving up the provocative identity that made Gaultier one of the most recognized fashion houses in the world. The result is a collection that speaks directly to the niche universe — more exclusivity, artistic construction, and sensory experiences.

The six fragrances

Each perfume was inspired by iconic elements of the brand's fashion universe. They are: Ambre Suprême, Rose Très Couture, Fleur du Male, Cuir Noir, French Oud, and Orange Frisson — each with its own visual and olfactory identity, inspired by haute couture references.

The highlight: French Oud by Jordi Fernández

Among the six perfumes, French Oud is the one that best captures the philosophy of the collection. Created by perfumer Jordi Fernández, it is a modern and essentially French reinterpretation of traditional oud. The composition unites bitter orange, oud, leather, and woody notes, building a sophisticated and surprising perfume.

Haute couture packaging

It wouldn't be a Gaultier collection without a visual statement. The packaging was designed with the same haute couture aesthetic that defines the brand's runway shows: luxurious, dramatic, and extremely detailed. Each bottle carries direct references to the world of sewing — gold safety pins, scissors, metallic spools of thread, measuring tape, and buttons.

What this collection says about the market

Les Ateliers Gaultier confirms a trend that we follow closely here at Artes da Perfumaria: designer perfumery is increasingly adopting the codes of the niche universe. More exclusivity, bottles that are objects of art, perfumers signing complex compositions, and prestigious ingredients. For a maison with the creative history of Jean Paul Gaultier, it was almost inevitable.
